I just love Eve s cyborgs They are each amazingly different and often times a victim of the programming the military cursed them with Einstein has been entertaining read in the previous books He has felt that his programming prevented him from ever feeling the emotions that some of his fellow cyborgs experience He watches his comrade s joke with their teammates, become angry, he has seen the newly rescued females experience grief, he has even seen a couple fall in love He wants to be human, less machine Einstein simply believes his programming is incapable of sentience, until he meets Bonnie.Bonnie grew tired of her circumstances one day and proved mind over matter was for the best Believing that life without her sister didn t matter she shut her mind down and went into a self inflicted stasis She had been teetering on the edge due to the extensive abuse she had incurred at the hands of the people who used her as an experimental weapon, the physical abuse she suffered at the hands of malicious soldiers, the news of her sister was too much for her to want to carry on Bonnie felt that a permanent sleep was the only solution to blight Unexpectedly waking from her sleep is just the beginning of Bonnie s new life She now has a new family full of cyborgs like her She has a handsome prince that needs a little spark in his life and she has just the fire he needs Bonnie keeps Einstein questioning his programming at every turn He has never experienced a firecracker quite like her and watching him adjust to her is quality literary entertainment Bonnie s pizazz brings out qualities in Einstein s personality that he never realized he had I do believe that the Cyborgs More Than Machines books can work as stand alone reads The couples from the previous books are mentioned, but not to the point that it causes confusion when reading The mention of previous books will just make you curious enough to go back and read those books Readers are given a little snippet of which one of these sexy cyborgs will get the next book in the series The brief mention about his heroine has me very eager to see what Eve has in store for him Favorite quote, Einstein to Bonnie I might have woken you from your sleep, but you woke me to my humanity. 3.25 3 StarsWhile Einstein is fixing sex bots on a pleasure ship he discovers a coffin shaped box with a life like sex bot that the owner can t seem to reboot He gave her to Einstein to do with as he pleases since she s just going to be trashed After closer examination he starts to realize she s too realistic, that she could be one of the 12 female cyborgs. When Cyborg Intelligence Meets Sensual Robotics Circuit Boards SizzleEinstein Was Probably The Only Cyborg In Existence With No Interest In The Opposite Sex, Until He Discovered B With Her Sensual Nature And Quirky Sense Of Humor, She Draws This Cybernetic Geek Out Of His Scientific Shell And Teaches Him The One Thing He S Never Understood PassionTired Of Being A Slave To The Military, Bonnie Went To Sleep One Day With The Intention Of Never Waking Up, But She Didn T Count On A Cybernetic Prince Charming Bringing Her Back To Life Coming To Terms With Her Past Isn T Easy, But Harder Still Is The Realization That Even A Bionic Princess Can Fall In LoveHowever, All Fairy Tales Have A Villain, And Despite The Fact The Military Wrote Them Both Off As A Loss, They Soon Discover They Ll Need To Fight To Have Their Happily Ever AfterGO METAL This book is actually as well written as the others in this interesting series, but I felt compelled to lower its star rating because of what I feel is a major character flaw. The heroine, Bonnie, is a sassy, bold and intelligent woman, yet she freely admits that her life before the car accident that turned her and her sister into cyborgs was filled with partying and meaningless sex Never is it said what personal pain prompted her self destruction, and it seems unlikely that, considering Bonnie relates that unlike other cyborgs her memory of every minute of her life before and after her change is intact, those psychological issues would simply dissolve I was similarly VERY offended by a line in this novel, one in which Bonnie is reflecting on all the rape and terror she and her sister endured She contemplates how much harder it was on Chloe who was always shy and less experienced than it was for Bonnie who could better handle the emotional and physical effects of repeated rape Excuse me There was no cyborg explanation for that statement, so I m gathering that somehow Bonnie is saying her previous promiscuous past prepared for rape and that s total bullshit Particularly factoring in Bonnie s memory, it would stand to reason that she would have a host of issues that needed to be worked through, at least in some passing way of having a program that could help her before diving into a sexual relationship. Are Bonnie and Einstein not believable as a couple No They are individually wonderful and a great match, but I could never successfully suspend my disbelief at the incongruity between Bonnie s past and her current behavior. Really loved the characters in this one It was sooooooo adorable Characterization and continuity a bit uneven comparing this book with the whole series, but just a tiny bit distracting not a ton Ever since the cyborgs discovered that there were female cyborgs still alive it s been a priority to locate and rescue them if possible To date only three have been found Despite having the brilliant Einstein running all types of scenarios and searching all known pathways, they haven t been able to locate any of the females.Seth, Aramus, and the crew get the opportunity to enjoy a little RR at a bordello while Einstein repairs the damaged and broken robots and computer system for the owner Einstein, a reclusive geek cyborg genius, has no need of physical intimacy so it s all work while his brothers enjoy themselves Just as he s finished with all the needed repairs, he notices one android that is about to be thrown out as trash as it s beyond repair Einstein salvages the robot with plans to use it for spare parts Little does he realize he s just found one of the missing female cyborgs who is about to shake up the rigid code of conduct Einstein lives by Another fun installment in the Cyborgs More Than Machines series Einstein is the cyborg equivalent of Sheldon, Spock, or Data Star Trek, next generation who is confronted by a very sexually liberated open minded female who won t take no for an answer I was extremely excited as B785 started to show signs that she would take on a dominate role in their relationship Could it be that I d get my wish and this would be a FemDom themed book Sorry You ll need to read this to find out for yourself if you want to know the answer heheMy issues were that for this read the romance and adult content AND the snarkiness between the different characters shined but the actual story line didn t Maybe my expectations have risen with the previous two installments OR maybe creative decisions needed to be made that resulted in this book being of a filler to the series instead of continuation Whatever As a fan it did scratch my itch in regards to Einstein finally getting his cherry popped Does give me hope for Sheldon and Amy though DNot much to say than I m enjoying the series and cast of characters I do wish the previous characters would have come back than they were as I always have a hard time when favorites of previous installments of a series leave, never to return. B785 by Eve LanglaisA futuristic sci fi romance where the humans that were built into cyborgs by the military have revolted and are now relearning their humanity and finding love.In this book, the geek gets the girl He accidentally awakens her with an uncharacteristic, impulsive kiss She s feisty, smart and irresistible He s not technically a virgin, but doesn t understand the appeal Most innuendo and sexual joking goes right over his head Filled with humor mostly on the geek s na vet , the couple falls in love while crossing the galaxy, fighting the military and learning about themselves Adorable, funny and romantic. Another great edition to the series I loved Einstein Certainly a beta hero, but funny and sweet view spoiler virgin hide spoiler Einstein and Bonnie I really liked Einstein from the previous books he had some of the best one liners This being his book I was intrigued, also being as it is Chloe s sister it was extra special I very much enjoyed how she brings him into himself if that makes sense, he is very reserved and by the book and she gets him to loosen him up I wasn t expecting what went down to happen that was a great twist I can t wait for the next book, unfortunately, it isn t in Audible Escape maybe one day Great narration Review originally posted at RabidReads.com.Ah, the cyborgs I ve really been enjoying this series They are a group of former humans who the military turned into cyborgs, usually after some sort of life threatening injury Most of the cyborgs have had their memories wiped and they don t remember their lives as humans They were meant to be slaves to the humans, but that is until they left some of the cyborgs so smart that they were able to override some of the controls Then the cyborgs revolted They now live on their own planet They are at war with humans, but they really just want to be left alone to live their own lives Einstein was one of those super smart cyborgs He was formerly known as IQ221 He is the only one left of his kind The others of his kind didn t survive the purge when the humans decided that the cyborgs had outlived their usefulness He lives entirely off logic He doesn t understand the emotions that have arisen in some of his brethren He longs for the ability to joke around and have conversations with them He just didn t seem to have it in him Mostly, he didn t understand their need for sex It wasn t a biological need and he just didn t see the point of it He had tried sex once with one of the sexbots that the others used, but just didn t see the point of it B785 was a special model She was made with the ability to turn off her pain, which made the military have hard time controlling her The torture that they put the other cyborgs through didn t work with her because she could survive the torture as if it were nothing She even lost her eyes and had to have them replaced with machine eyes, which looked like emeralds However, when the commander tells her that her sister is gone, B785, Bonnie, shuts down completely until she is doesn t seem to function at all When Einstein finds Bonnie in stasis in a brothel, he is able to get the maintenance man to give her over since she didn t seem to be working Once he gets to her come back to life with a kiss, of all things, she proceeds to change everything he thought he knew about the world I loved watching Bonnie getting Einstein out his shell He had such a hard time with it Bonnie is such a strong character The guys kept wanting to treat her like she was made of glass and she would have none of it Part of that was because she was putting herself down as not a good person, but she also felt that one cyborg was not worth than the group, which I thought was very admirable She had never even been to the cyborg planet and met most of the other cyborgs, but she was already trying to protect the society that they had built You re right I do car Very much I don t know why you sound so surprised Emotions are hormonal imbalances I control my hormonal levels Or did until I met you She wrinkled her nose and laughed You know that wasn t exactly the most romantic declaration I didn t realize my words were meant to be a romantic declaration.I was just stating my current state of mind Let me clear it up for you I think I ve fallen in love with you, Einstein You know Aramus will blame me Me better not or I ll have him singing show tunes, Einstein growled. She giggled That s just mean For everyone who has to listen The devilish grin on his face had her laughing Oh and to think I used to think you lacked a sense of humor I did until I met you I might have woken you from your sleep, but you woke me to my humanity If she could have shed tears, she would have as it was, her throat tighten Now that was romantic It was Most definitely She kissed him.
